In the 1970s, which provided section Tures of the Alpine Club South Tyrol for the restoration of the Alta Via.

location

Hundskehljoch

The high trail leads along the eastern southern slope of the Zillertal main ridge at around 2500 m near the Austrian-Italian border. From there you can see the rear Ahrntal and behind it the mountains of the Venediger group .

Between the Neugersdorfer Hütte and the Birnlücke, a little above the Lausitzer Weg on the slope of the Klockerkarkopf next to the Pfaffenschneide, stood the first Lausitzer Hütte, the foundations of which can still be seen. At the Hundskehljoch, where the Lausitzer Weg was extended in 1911, the construction of a second Lausitzer hut was planned.

Signs near the Birnlückenhütte

In the course of the dispute over the monolingual, bilingual or trilingual signposts, a working group was set up to clarify all disputes. However, this working group was unable to agree on an Italian name for the Lausitzer Weg because the Italian side had suggested "Alta Via della Vetta d'Italia ". The existing “Via Lausitz” signage will probably remain.
