Lawrence Schiller

Lawrence Schiller (born December 28, 1936 in Brooklyn ) is an American photojournalist , film producer , director and publisher .

Career

Schiller grew up in San Diego and attended Pepperdine College in Malibu , Los Angeles County , California . After completing his training, he began working as a photojournalist for Life Magazine , Paris Match , The Sunday Times , Time , Newsweek , Stern and the Saturday Evening Post .

As a director, he was involved in the 1975 Oscar- winning documentary Shooting Mount Everest . Since the 1980s, he has mainly directed television productions, which he also produced himself. Together with his second wife Nina Wiener, Schiller published various publications in Taschen-Verlag .

In 1982 he won an Emmy for the miniseries The Executioner's Song. 1984 - 1988 he received 3 Emmy for the miniseries Peter the Great.

Schiller was married to Kathy Amerman Schiller from 1996 and has five children. He has been married to the pocket editor Nina Wiener since 2011.
