Le Scole are an uninhabited rock group off the east coast of the Italian island of Giglio in the Tuscan Archipelago . They are located between the port of Giglio and Cala delle Cannelle . The rocks protrude only a few meters out of the water and have no vegetation worth mentioning on the surface. The largest of the rocks is about 100 meters long and 50 meters wide.
biology
The rock group is known by divers for its wide range of species . 70 different fish species alone, including many schooling fish, live on the rocks.
According to the NABU , the fauna and flora of the rock were affected by the shipwreck of the Costa Concordia in 2012, although the exact consequences are still unexplored. The boulder that could be seen in the hull of the Costa Concordia was returned to its original location after it was recovered. Divers recognize him by a small commemorative plaque.
