Leavittsburg is a census-designated place (CDP) in Trumbull County , in the US state of Ohio , United States . According to the 2000 census, the population was 2,200.

history
Leavittsburg was part of the Connecticut Western Reserve , from which John Leavitt and his family of Suffield , Connecticut , bought land. The family has their burial place here.
Leavittsburg was to become a market town and county seat in Trumbull County, but Warren ousted Leavittsburg in this effort. The area remained mostly woodland. On March 15, 1864, a post office was opened under the name Leavittsburgh , the spelling was changed to Leavittsburg on July 19, 1893.
