Lego Star Wars: Die Skywalker Saga (English original title: Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga ) is an action-adventure game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on a current schedule in spring 2021 for Microsoft Windows , Nintendo Switch , PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 5 , Xbox One , and Xbox Series X should be released. It is the sixth game in the Lego Star Wars series by TT Games and the sequel to Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens . It implements events from the Star Wars film series as a computer game with a Lego look.

Gameplay

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a third-person action-adventure game with an open world . Unlike most Lego games, which require players to progress through the story in linear order, players can start the game in any episode of the Skywalker saga and complete it in any order. Each episode is filled with planets that are prominently represented in the respective films and that can be visited and explored. The episodes will each have five main missions, so there will be 45 main missions and 24 freely accessible planets.

The fight has also been reworked. B. Lightsaber fighters, which include a variety of combos with light attacks, heavy attacks and power attacks, as well as blaster characters who fight with a camera angle lying over the shoulder.

Random events will also take place in the game world. For example, an Imperial Star Destroyer suddenly jumps out of hyperspace and sends a fleet of TIE fighters towards the player. Players can choose to fight with them or to continue the story.

The game will include all nine episodes of the Star Wars saga: The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), Revenge of the Sith (2005), A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) , Return of the Jedi (1983), The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

The Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga announcement trailer was unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2019 during Microsoft's press conference .

A second trailer, each with a scene from all nine films, was released on December 20, coinciding with the release of The Rise of Skywalker.

As of June 2019, Disney and Lucasfilm had not shared any significant details about the plot of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the developers. In the meantime, TT Games are working on other aspects of the game until Lucasfilm releases more details.

The game is being developed in Traveller's Tales' new engine, NTT.

It has been announced that the game will feature more than 200 playable characters, with TT Games announcing that this number will change later. It was later announced that the game would feature over 500 characters, many of which are said to be playable.

As in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens , Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will also use some of the language editions known from the films, with it being announced that Billy Dee Williams will speak Lando Calrissian .

In an interview with Nintendoeverything, TT Games employee James Burgon claimed that the Nintendo Switch version of the game shouldn't be too graphically lagging behind the other versions.

The official artwork for the game was published on May 4, 2020 by TT Games on Twitter .

Furthermore, TT Games announced that it would announce further information about the game in summer 2020.

On May 7, 2020, a trailer was uploaded to the Star Wars official YouTube channel , dated October 20, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch version of the game to be released. The trailer was removed a short time later.

In the course of Gamescom on 08/27. announced that the game won't be released until spring 2021.
