Leland Fuller

Leland Fuller (born February 16, 1899 in Riverside , California , † October 9, 1962 in Hollywood , Los Angeles ) was an American production designer for films.

Life

Leland Fuller began his career as an architect. From 1943 he was under contract as a production designer and art director at 20th Century Fox . There he often worked with Thomas Little and Lyle R. Wheeler . Directors under whose direction he worked included Ernst Lubitsch , Otto Preminger , Henry Hathaway , Jean Negulesco , Elia Kazan and Edmund Goulding . In the course of his career, Fuller was nominated a total of six times, including for Preminger's famous film noir Laura (1944), for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design, but never won the trophy. He died in Hollywood in 1962 at the age of 63 .
