Leonard "Len" Duncan (born July 25, 1911 in New York City , New York , † August 1, 1998 in Landsdale , Pennsylvania ) was an American racing driver .

Midget Cars

Duncan began driving midget car racing in 1928 . in his career he won the championship of the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) eight times between 1955 and 1967. In the 1940s he once served as the chauffeur for US President Truman during a visit to England.

Champ Cars

Duncan started in six races for the AAA National Series between 1946 and 1963 . His best result was a seventh place, which he achieved in 1957 in Trenton . Once started at the Indianapolis 500 . Starting the race from last place on the grid, he handed over his Schroeder - Offenhauser after 56 laps to George Fonder , who then retired on lap 101 with a brake defect.
