Lena Bröder (* 1989 in Göttingen ) is a German teacher , beauty queen and Miss Germany 2016.

Life

Lena Bröder grew up in Göttingen and Herzberg am Harz . After completing her teaching degree with the subjects of work theory and Catholic theology at the University of Kassel , she has been completing her teaching internship for housekeeping and Catholic religion at the Anne Frank Comprehensive School in Havixbeck since 2015 .

Lena Bröder has been taking part in beauty contests regularly since 2009 and lists this as her hobby . She won a total of 16 titles in 30 attempts. Among other things, she was Miss Goslar (2009), Miss Südharz (2011), Miss Kassel (2013), Miss Oldenburg (2013), Miss Ammerland (2015) and most recently Miss West Germany in early 2016 . On February 21, 2016, she won the Miss Germany 2016 election at Europa-Park Rust , replacing Olga Hoffmann .

On June 15, 2016, Lena Bröder, who is a practicing Catholic , met Pope Francis on the sidelines of the weekly general audience on St. Peter's Square in the Vatican and presented him with her book The Beautiful in Me - Successful with Faith . She then said that the brief encounter with the head of the church had "moved" her and that she had promised to pray for him. According to the organizers of the beauty pageant, this was the first time that a Pope received a “Miss Germany”. Shortly before, she had already appeared at the 100th German Catholic Day in Leipzig .
