Lena Endesfelder, German Wine Queen

Lena Endesfelder (born December 30, 1992 ) from Mehring in the Moselle wine-growing region in Rhineland-Palatinate was the German Wine Queen in 2016/2017. She was elected the 68th German Wine Queen in Mainz in 2016 as the successor to Josefine Schlumberger . She is the 12th wine queen from the Moselle wine region and the third wine queen to come from Mehring. Christina Schneider from Nordheim in Franconia and Mara Walz from Ensingen in Württemberg stood by her side as wine princesses during her twelve-month tenure . In that year, the ceremony to mark the 200th anniversary of the Rheinhessen wine-growing region took place, for once, not in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , but in the wine town of Mainz .

Life

Lena Endesfelder lives in Mehring on the Moselle, where she grew up. She runs the family business together with her mother and sister. The family's winery is now in the third generation.

She studied "Viticulture and Oenology " at the Geisenheim University and completed her studies with the academic degree of "Bachelor of Science".

In the final of the 2016 Wine Queen election, she stood out for her self-portrayal, in which she emphasized that she not only had gripping hands, but also “muscular and dynamic, steep calves”. Although she made a mistake when determining the wine - she guessed a Riesling instead of a Pinot Blanc - the jury still liked her description: it had "aromas of grapefruit, mango and peach".

She is a member of the Mehringer winegrowers dance group.

Endesfelder was elected the Moselle region wine queen on September 11, 2015. Before that, she was the local wine queen in her home town of Mehring and the wine queen of the Roman Wine Route .
