The National Division 1988/89 was the 75th season of the highest Luxembourg soccer league .

Spora Luxemburg won the championship title for the 11th time. Defending champion Jeunesse Esch took second place.

mode

The ten teams first played a basic round, consisting of a round trip. The six best teams then played out the champions in a play-off round. Half of the points from the basic round were added.

The teams in places 7-10 played the remaining four places for the following season in the national division with the four best of the two districts from the honorary doctorate in two relegation rounds.
