Union Titus Pétange is a Luxembourg football club based in Pétange .

history

Union Titus Petingen was founded in 2015 as a merger of the two clubs CS Petingen and FC Titus Lamadelaine . At that time, both clubs were playing second class in the honorary doctorate . Union Titus Petingen took the place and started the 2015/16 season in the honorary doctorate. Immediate promotion to the BGL Ligue was achieved in the first season .

The association was founded in 1910. During the German occupation of Luxembourg , the club was called FV 08 Petingen from 1940 . Since 1944 it has been called CS Pétange again . Club Sportif reached the Luxembourg Cup final twice. In 1992 he lost 1-0 to Avenir Beggen . In 2005, Pétange won the Luxembourg Cup with a 5-0 win against FC CeBra 01 . By winning the cup, CS Petingen took part in the main round of a European competition for the first time in the club's history in the 2005/2006 season. In qualifying for the UEFA Cup , the team were eliminated in the first round with a 1-1 and 3-0 win against AC Allianssi from Finland .

FC Titus Lamadelaine

The association was founded in 1948 and had the portrait of the Roman emperor Titus in its coat of arms , after which the association was named. In the 2013/14 season, the club rose for the first time in 57 years to the second highest class in Luxembourg, the honorary doctorate.

In the Coupe de Luxembourg they reached the second round in the 1962/63 season.

In 2014, Titus won the Coupe FLF , the national cup competition for clubs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd division (third to fifth division) with a 3-2 after extra time over US Esch .

Stadion

Originally the predecessor club CS Pétange played in the Stade Antoine Nangeroni in Pétange . In the 90s it had to give way to the construction of the N31 and was demolished.

Since then, the club has played in the Stade Municipal de Pétange, which has a main pitch (110 × 64 m) and a training pitch (100 × 60 m) as well as a covered grandstand with 400 seats. The complex is approved for a total of 2,400 spectators. Furthermore, the former playing field of FC Titus Lamadelaine in Lamadelaine is used by the club as a venue for the youth teams.

The club is supported by a fan group, the South Lions , loudly with drums, flags and scarves at every home and away game.

Partenariat

In February 2016, the club announced that it had signed a partnership with the Portuguese first division club Vitória Guimarães . The cooperation between the two clubs aims at "passing on knowledge and experience at the sporting level" and "exchanging players and coaches from Luxembourg and Portugal", as Vitoria President Julio Mendes put it.
