Lennart Marioneck (born November 27, 1988 in Bamberg ) is a German vehicle engineer and racing driver .

Life

After his high school Marioneck began the study of automotive technology . He graduated from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) with a master's degree in vehicle technology . He is now working as a project engineer for a company in Munich in the field of testing and validation for lateral dynamics functions. His racing career began rather by accident when his mother registered her son in 2006 for what was supposed to be driver safety training. In truth, it was a screening course for future racing drivers, which took place in Oschersleben.

Racing career

A short time after this racing driver inspection course, Marioneck received a driver's seat in the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen (HTH) youth development team for the ADAC Logan Cup 2007. In 2008 he was runner-up and in 2009 he was able to win two races and a total of seven podium finishes in ten races secure the championship in this class. For the 2010 season he moved to the ADAC Cruze Cup. With a race win and several podium places, he ended up in 5th place in the championship. The next year he became champion of the ADAC Cruze Cup with five wins.

At the end of the 2011 season, the ADAC Sports Foundation invited Lennart Marioneck to their touring car racing driver inspection. Due to his good performance, he was then able to secure a starting place in the ADAC Procar 2012 . Together with his Engstler Motorsport team , he became runner-up in this Procar series after four race wins and three further podium finishes.

Marioneck has been part of the ADAC GT Masters racing series since 2013 . After two years with the Callaway Competition racing team on a Corvette C6 Z06-R GT3 , in 2015 he drove a BMW Z4 GT3 for the Czech racing team Senkyr Motorsport . In 2016 he and his racing team became the runner-up in the GT4 European Series 2016 racing series as part of the Reiter Young Stars Cup series, just four points behind the champion from Finland, Marko Helistekangas .

In 2017 he sporadically participates in the Competition102 GT4 European Series as part of the Reiter Young Stars Series (RYS). There he drives a 360 hp KTM X-Bow GTR from Reiter Engineering . Although Marioneck is not a regular driver, he and his racing team won the first race of the GT4 European Series Northern Cup on April 4, 2017. At the Austrian Grand Prix course in Spielberg on June 11, 2017, he was twice on the podium for his racing team RYS Team Kiska (once victory and once a second place). With these points, Marioneck secured second place in the table. As part of the DTM , the GT4 European Series made a guest appearance on August 21, 2017 on the Dutch circuit Park Zandvoort . The Franconian guest starter Lennart Marioneck was again able to celebrate a podium (third overall) and victory in the Reiter Young Stars Cup on Sunday (sixth overall) for his racing team RYS Team Kiska. Although Marioneck did not start at the Slovakiaring , he is currently in second place in the table (93 points) after the racing drivers Ricardo van der Ende and Max Koebolt with 185 points each, ahead of third-placed Matt Nicoll-Jones and William Moore with 71 points each. The next two and thus also the last race will take place on September 16 and 17 at the Nürburgring .

In 2017 he was again Vice Champion of the Reiter Young Star Cup. In the overall standings of the GT4 European Series, Marioneck came third in 2017. As a "prize" for his successes, Lennart Marioneck receives a cockpit in the Blancpain GT Series for the 2018 season.
