Lenny Zakatek (born July 29, 1947 in Karachi , British India ), born Lenny du Platel , is a British musician, composer and promoter . He lives in London and temporarily with Artà on Mallorca .

Life

Born in the Pakistani city ​​of Karachi since August 1947 , Lenny Zakatek went to England with his family at the age of 13 . There he began to deal with music and at the age of 17 he was a member of the band Funky Fever as a singer and rhythm guitarist . In the early 1970s Zakatek played and sang in the band Gonzalez , with whom he released the albums Our Only Weapon Is Our Music (1975) and I Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet (1978/79).

In 1977 Zakatek began working on The Alan Parsons Project ; on the album I Robot he sang the song I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You . This was followed by contributions to the albums Pyramid (1978; One More River ), Eve (1979; You Lie Down with Dogs, Damned If I Do ), The Turn of a Friendly Card (1980; Games People Play, I Don't Wanna Go Home ), Eye in the Sky (1982; You're Gonna Get Your Fingers Burned, Step by Step ), and Ammonia Avenue (1984; Let Me Go Home, You Don't Believe ). In the early 1990s Zakatek sang at the first live concerts of The Alan Parsons Project.

Lenny Zakatek's first solo album, released in 1979, was produced by Alan Parsons . His second album Small But Hard was not released until ten years later . In 2014 Zakatek announced a new album that is based in the blues and soul area. In 2016 Zakatek released his third solo album Love Letters .
