The Lente is a river with a length of 20 km in the Province of Grosseto , Region Tuscany , Italy .

course

The Lente rises approx. 5 km east of Sorano and north of the district of San Quirico near the Etruscan rock settlement Vitozza . It then flows west to Sorano, where, below the village, it first comes into contact with the Vie Cave , a transport network cut into the tuff by the Etruscans . From Sorano the Lente now flows southwest to Pitigliano , where parts of its tributary Procchio were diverted into the Acquedotto Mediceo aqueduct commissioned by Gian Francesco Orsini and built by Antonio Sangallo from 1543 to 1545 to secure the city's water supply. Then the Lente meets the Cascata del Londini waterfall and then its left tributary Meleta . Further to the southwest and still in the municipality of Pitigliano, the course of the river ends where it flows into the Fiora .
