Leo Ferdinand Dworschak (born April 6, 1900 in Independence , Wisconsin , USA , † November 5, 1976 in Fargo , North Dakota ) was an American bishop of Fargo .

Life

Leo Ferdinand Dworschak received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Fargo on May 29, 1926 .

On June 22, 1946, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Tium and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Rapid City . The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani , ordained him episcopal on August 22 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Bismarck , Vincent James Ryan , and the Bishop of Covington , William Theodore Mulloy . On April 10, 1947, Pius XII appointed him. to the auxiliary bishop in Fargo. Pope John XXIII appointed him Bishop of Fargo on February 23, 1960. The inauguration took place on May 10 of the same year.

On September 8, 1970 Dworschak resigned as Bishop of Fargo and Pope Paul VI. appointed him titular bishop of Meta . Leo Ferdinand Dworschak renounced the titular bishopric of Meta on January 13, 1971.

Leo Ferdinand Dworschak attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
