James Stephen Sullivan (born July 23, 1929 in Kalamazoo , Michigan , USA ; † June 12, 2006 in Fargo , North Dakota ) was Bishop of Fargo .

Life

James Stephen Sullivan received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Lansing on June 4, 1955 . Sullivan was Vicar General of the Lansing Diocese.

On July 25, 1972, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Siccesi and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Lansing. The Bishop of Lansing, Alexander Mieceslaus Zaleski , donated him episcopal ordination on September 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Reno , Michael Joseph Green , and the Bishop of Kalamazoo , Paul Vincent Donovan . On March 29, 1985, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Fargo. The inauguration took place on May 30 of the same year.

On March 18, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted James Stephen Sullivan's resignation on grounds of illness.
