Leo von Pretz

Leo von Pretz (born July 22, 1898 in Mittewald ; † August 14, 1984 ) was a South Tyrolean politician.

biography

Leo von Pretz, who came from a Tyrolean aristocratic family, was drafted into the reserve of the 1st Tyrolean Kaiserjägerregiment as a student in 1916 and released as a lieutenant in the reserve at the end of the First World War . He completed his studies with a dissertation on Haflinger breeding . In 1933 he and his brother Carl took over their father's wood pulp and cardboard factory in Mittewald. During the option , he was one of the "debauchers".

After the Second World War , von Pretz was one of the founding members of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP). From 1948 to 1952 he was a member of the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol and thus also of the South Tyrolean parliament . During this period from 1948 to 1952 he was a substitute regional councilor in the Erckert I cabinet, a member of the South Tyrolean provincial government and, briefly in 1952, deputy regional assessor in the regional government of Trentino-South Tyrol .
