Leonard Petrosian
Leonard Georgiewitsch Petrosyan ( Armenian Լեոնարդ Գեորգիի Պետրոսյան , Russian Петросян, Леонард Георгиевич ; born October 13, 1953 in Martuni , Nagorno-Karabakh ; † October 27, 1999 (shot) in Yerevan , Armenia ) was the second president of Nagorno-Karabakh for almost six months (20th March 1997 to September 8, 1997).
He was previously the Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic from 1994 to 1997 . From 1997 he was Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and from 1998 the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia.
He was shot dead in 1999 in the hall of the Armenian National Assembly along with seven other politicians .
