José Leonardo Ulloa Fernandez (born July 26, 1986 in General Roca ) is an Argentine football player who has been under contract with the Spanish second division club Rayo Vallecano since 2019 .

Career

Ulloa started his career in 2002 with CAI Comodoro Rivadavia in the Primera B Nacional . In 2005 he moved to the Primera División for CA San Lorenzo de Almagro . With the club from Buenos Aires he won the Argentine championship in 2007.

After further stations in Argentina, he moved to Europe to join the Spanish second division CD Castellón in 2008 . Here he scored 30 goals in the following two seasons.

After relegation in the 2009/10 season , Ulloa was signed by the Spanish first division club UD Almería . With the Andalusians he was a regular player straight away in the 2010/11 season and scored seven goals in 34 games. Nevertheless, at the end of the season, he was relegated to the Segunda División . Ulloa decided to stay with the club and secured the title of top scorer in the second division in the 2011/12 season with 28 goals in 38 games.

On January 16, 2013 Ulloa moved to the English second division club Brighton & Hove Albion . For the 2014/15 season he joined the first division promoted Leicester City .

The club announced on January 29, 2018 that they would loan Ulloa to their old club in Brighton.
