Leonhard von Richter (also Georg Leonhard Christoph von Richter ; Russian : Егор Христофорович Рихтер; * January 15, 1778 ; † July 3, 1823 in Teplitz ) was a German-Baltic nobleman and major general of the Imperial Russian Army .

Life

His military career began in the Imperial Russian Army. As a Major , he served in a muskets - Regiment . As a lieutenant colonel , he moved to a guard regiment and was appointed as a colonel in 1812 to command the Pavlovsky Grenadier Regiment. From 1813 he was city ​​commander of Dünaburg and from 1814 to 1823 of Riga . He was promoted to major general in 1816 . Origin and family

The noble von Richter family had been resident in the Baltic States since the beginning of the 17th century and originally came from Silesia . Leonhard was the son of the Livonian governor Christoph Adam von Richter (1751–1815) and Margaretha Dorothea von Richter, née Freiin von Budberg (1759–1809). In 1802 he married Anna Sophie von Huhn (1783–1866), whose descendants were:
