Hjalmar von Mörner

Hjalmar Count of Mörner (* 18th January 1861 in Weimar , † 4. September 1935 in Lugano ) was a Prussian civil servant and in several circles job or representation as district administrator .

Life

Hjalmar von Mörner came from the Swedish branch of the German noble family Mörner . He was born in Weimar as the son of the painter Wilhelm von Mörner and Eliza or Elise Christine Giesler (1836–1904), the daughter of the wealthy businessman Friedrich Giesler . He attended the Royal High School in Bonn from the Obertertia in 1873 .

After his father received Prussian citizenship in 1893 while retaining his title of count, Hjalmar was also able to use this title. He was married to Helene Beschlie Lydia (called Nellie) Lessing (born December 15, 1878), daughter of Anton Lessing . They had a son, Warner Wilhelm Hans Anton (* 1901 in Wiesbaden, † 1976).

He studied law and was 1886 in Heidelberg to Dr. jur. PhD. As part of his further training, he first entered the Prussian judicial service as a court trainee in 1889 , before changing to the same position as a government trainee in the interior in 1891. After his predecessor as District Administrator of the Wipperfürth district , Robert Klauser , who was appointed by order like him, resigned this office on January 7, 1893, Hjalmar von Mörner was entrusted with the administration of the district from January to July 7, 1893. Georg Porcher was his successor . After passing the second state examination and being appointed government assessor , Mörner was employed in the Wiesbaden government from 1895 , where he temporarily took over the management of the district office of the Oberlahnkreis in Weilburg in 1898 for the sick district administrator Friedrich von der Goltz , before he took over in 1900 returned to the Wiesbaden government as a government assessor , where he was also appointed a councilor in 1903 . He was also active as a government councilor in Schleswig .
