Julius Wiethaus

Julius Johann Heinrich Wiethaus (born November 7, 1806 in Hamm , † April 23, 1863 in Bernkastel ) was a Prussian civil servant and member of parliament.

Life

He was the son of David Wiethaus , district administrator of the Hamm district and brother of the lawyer Carl Wiethaus . Between 1826 and 1830 he studied law in Bonn , Berlin and Heidelberg . He was a member of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn (1826) and Alemannia Heidelberg (1829). In 1830 there was a criminal case for unauthorized dueling . For this he was to one year imprisonment sentenced.

Then he completed the usual preparatory service for the higher royal Prussian judicial and administrative service. From 1837 he was a government assessor with the government in Arnsberg . Between 1837 and 1844 he worked in the same position at the police headquarters in Berlin and from 1839 in Cologne . He had been the censor of the Rheinische Zeitung there since 1842 . For Karl Marx he was an "honorable man". After that he was there Regierungsrat . In 1845 he became a representative and in 1846 an official district administrator in the Wipperfürth district . In 1852 he moved to the Bernkastel district in the same position .

Wiethaus was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly between July 15, 1848 and May 17, 1849 . He didn't belong to any faction, but mostly voted with the Right Center. In September 1848 he joined the General German Association for the Protection of Patriotic Labor . After the end of the revolution he took part in the Gotha post-parliament . In 1849, during the first legislative period, he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the Cologne constituency . There he belonged to the faction of the right.
