Friedrich Gorius

Karl Maria Friedrich Gorius (born November 5, 1877 in Cologne , † August 21, 1950 in Honnef ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer. As district administrator he was in charge of the Arnsberg, Lippstadt, Adenau, Bernkastel and Siegkreis districts.

Life

Origin and education

Friedrich Gorius was born as the son of Dr. jur. Privy Councilor of Justice, lawyer Friedrich Gorius (born June 15, 1848 in Cologne; † December 2, 1912 there) of an established Cologne legal family. His mother was Elisabeth called Lilly, geb. Wallraf (born February 25, 1852 in Cologne, † March 3, 1939 in Cologne-Lindenthal), a sister of the mayor of Cologne and later President of the Reichstag, Max Wallraf . After visiting the Cologne Marzellengymnasiums , the Friedrich Gorius at Easter 1896 with passing the final examination left, he studied at the Universities of Lausanne (one semester ) and Bonn (seven semesters) to 1899 law .

Since he was "permanently" unfit, he did not have to do any military service. With the passing of the examination as a trainee lawyer before the Higher Regional Court of Cologne (March 3, 1900 with sufficient) he received the appointment as a trainee lawyer on March 12, 1900 (swearing in March 17, 1900). As a government trainee, he was transferred to the Cologne government on March 17, 1902 . At the same time as the government assessor examination , Gorius was transferred to the Schmalkalden district office as an unskilled worker on May 26, 1906 , from where he moved to the Arnsberg government in February 1910 .

Career

The actual professional advancement of Friedrich Gorius began with the representative administration of the Arnsberg District Office in August 1914. After his appointment to the government council (January 19, 1915), he was temporarily commissioned with the administration of the Lippstadt District Office on September 1, 1916 ; his definitive appointment followed on March 4, 1917. After only two years, he took over provisional management of the District Office Adenau , his definitive transfer to there followed on October 2, 1920. During the war against the Ruhr , he was expelled by the Inter-Allied Rhineland Commission from April 14, 1923 to September 23, 1924. After his return, Gorius was initially with the Representative administration of the Bernkastel district commissioned. The transmission of provisional administration followed on November 1, 1924 the final appointment on March 10, 1925. Obviously, for political reasons, who has been the center related Gorius after the seizure of power by the National Socialists placed on 5 July 1933 as a district on hiatus , but then transferred to the Cologne government on November 4, 1933 for employment, which placed him at the Oberversicherungsamt. After the end of the war, he retired on November 27, 1945, retroactively to November 1. Friedrich Gorius, who had meanwhile joined the newly founded CDU , held three terms of office from April 18, 1946 until he left for health reasons on November 10, 1948, as the district administrator in the Siegkreis .

The Catholic Friedrich Gorius married Marianne Danckelmann on September 29, 1921 (* February 16, 1891 in Hardehausen, † July 1, 1971 in Siegburg), a daughter of forester Engelbert Danckelmann and Auguste, née. Simon. The couple had two sons and two daughters.
