The Leontiusbrunnen is a fountain in Muri in the canton of Aargau . It is located at the intersection of Seetalstrasse, Marktstrasse and Kirchbühlstrasse, diagonally opposite the southwest corner of the Muri monastery . The baroque- style fountain is a listed building and is a cultural asset of national importance .

On behalf of Abbot Hieronymus Troger , Hans Heinrich Schmid from Sarmenstorf created the trough and the well stock in 1681. Two years later, the sculptor Johann Baptist Wickart from Zug created the figure of the catacomb saint Leontius (whose bones are kept in the monastery church ). The trough was replaced in 1733 and 1778, and it was renovated in 1916.

The octagonal trough with a diameter of 2.40 meters shows the dates 1778 and 1916. The fountain stem, consisting of a base and aedicule, rises behind it . The base is marked with the year 1681. The aedicule consists of scaled frame pilasters with a fighter , flat pillars and a Corinthian capital . Folk art flower tendrils adorn the narrow sides and the cranked beams . The niche arch has the shape of a shell, on the round gable the coat of arms of Abbot Hieronymus can be seen. In the niche stands the figure of Saint Leontius, depicted as a Roman warrior, on the base.
