Hieronymus II Troger (born September 11, 1623 in Altdorf , † March 9, 1684 in Muri ) was a Swiss Benedictine monk . From 1674 until his death he was abbot of the Muri monastery in the free offices (in today's canton of Aargau ).

His father Kaspar Roman Troger was governor and mayor of Uri , his mother was Anna Maria Imhof. Troger made his profession in 1640, followed by the ordination of priests in 1647 . After the abbey had acquired the rule of Klingenberg in Thurgau , he was the first Benedictine pastor in the village of Homburg from 1652 . Five years later he also took over the office of governor of Klingenberg. When Abbot Fridolin I. Summerer fell seriously ill in 1673, Troger took over the administration of the Muri monastery. On August 22, 1674 he was elected Summerer's successor. On behalf of the Swiss Benedictine Congregation , he carried out five years of visitations from 1676 onwards , and in 1680/81 he was the only abbot of Muri to be the chief visitor. At his invitation, the preacher of penance, Marco d'Aviano Muri paid a visit. Troger is buried in the Leontius Chapel of the monastery church.
