Leopold Georg von Kameke

Leopold Georg (e) von Kame (c) ke (born April 23, 1725 in Pomerania ; † July 13, 1781 in Magdeburg ) was a Prussian major , commander of the grenadier battalion "Jung-Kameke" and heir to Baldekow in Western Pomerania.

Life

origin

His father was Lieutenant Colonel Henning Georg von Kameke (March 3, 1683 - December 24, 1737) and his wife Eleonore Dorothea Juliane, born von Grape (1690 - after 1757) from the Dörphagen family.

Military career

In 1742 Kameke entered Prussian service and came into the infantry regiment "von Herzberg" . He took part in the Second Silesian War and rose to second lieutenant until 1749 . During the Seven Years' War he was wounded in the Battle of Lobositz and was promoted to captain until 1760 .

On July 7, 1773 he was promoted to major and Kameke was given command of the grenadier battalion "Jung-Kameke". The battalion was composed of grenadians from the regiments "Jung-Bornstedt" and "Lengefeld" . During the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 he was in the army of Prince Heinrich in Saxony. But he died in 1781.

family

Kameke was married to Auguste Elisabeth Luise Oschütz (1745-1814), a daughter of the Prussian war and domain councilor Johann Friedrich Oschütz. The couple had several children:
