Leopold Mathias Schleifer

Leopold Mathias Schleifer (born March 9, 1771 in Wildendürnbach , Lower Austria, † September 26, 1842 in Gmunden , Upper Austria) was an Austrian poet and civil servant.

Life

Schleifer was born in Wildendürnbach in 1771. During his life he held various state offices, for example in 1794 he was clerk in Velm , 1801 senior civil servant in Wallsee , 1807 nurse in Wallsee, 1814 district commissioner of the Sierning government , 1826–1829 nurse of Klaus and Spital am Pyhrn., 1829 nurse of the imperial Salienen rule Location on the Traunsee, 1837 Bergrat. He was friends with Nikolaus Lenau and Anastasius Grün , among others . He wrote ballads , epigrams and fables . Leopold Mathias Schleifer died on September 26, 1842 in Gmunden.
