Leroy Dixon (born June 20, 1983 in South Bend , Indiana ) is an American athlete .

He celebrated the greatest success of his career so far as a member of the US 4 x 100 meter relay . At the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka , he won the gold medal with Darvis Patton , Wallace Spearmon and Tyson Gay in the world best time of 37.78 s before the relay from Jamaica and Great Britain .

At the World Indoor Championships in Valencia in 2008 , he reached the semi-finals in the 60-meter run . In the US Trials for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he set a new personal best of 10.02 seconds in the quarter-finals. As the overall sixth of the trials, however, he finally missed qualifying for the Olympic team.

Leroy Dixon is 1.78 m tall and has a competition weight of 72 kg. He is trained by John Smith .
