Lesjöfors is a place ( tätort ) in the municipality of Filipstad in the province of Värmland County in Sweden .
The place is about 40 kilometers north of Filipstad on Lake Lesjön . Lesjöfors is an important hub and small industrial town in the northern part of Filipstad municipality. The Riksväg 26 and the Inlandsbahn cross the town. However, the inland railway has been closed in this area and can only be used in parts by draisines .
The steel group Lesjöfors AB was the largest employer until its bankruptcy in 1985. The number of inhabitants has fallen sharply since the plant was closed.
Lesjöfors is known for its sports club Lesjöfors IF, which was first class in Bandy from the 1950s to 1970s , and its Esperanto school.
