Nykroppa is a place ( tätort ) in the municipality of Filipstad in the province of Värmland County in Sweden .
Nykroppa is located about 13 kilometers southeast of Filipstad on Lake Mögsjön. The Riksväg 26 as well as the Inlandsbahn and Bergslagsbanan cross the town. Nykroppa was already mining in the 16th century. Nykroppens hytte was first mentioned in 1540 . Large industrial companies emerged at the end of the 19th century. Their decline began in the 1950s.
