The Leuenkopf is a 1,830 meter high mountain in the Bregenz Forest Mountains , which is located on the municipality border between the two Austrian municipalities of Dornbirn ( Dornbirn district ) and Mellau in the Bregenz Forest ( Bregenz district ). The summit of the mountain is easily accessible on foot and belongs to the Dornbirner First , a mountain range that can still be easily recognized from Friedrichshafen on a clear day .
Surname
The name "Leue" (Leu) refers to the avalanche in Alemannic / Vorarlberg . This exposed peak poses a considerable avalanche danger in winter, but does not affect any area that is permanently populated in winter.

The Leuenkopf is about 600 m as the crow flies northeast of the Mörzelspitze ( 1830 m above sea level ) and about 1500 m southwest of the Goselarkopf ( 1791 m above sea level ).
On the flatter south-east side of the Leuenkopf (after Mellau) is the Unterguntenstallalpe (about 1298 m above sea level ) about 1000 m as the crow flies . On the steeper, north-western side (Dornbirn) of the Leuenkopf, the Laubachalpe is around 1400 m as the crow flies at around 1184 m above sea level. A. situated.
All the Alps are easily accessible from the mountain village of Ebnit as well as from the Mellental, which belongs to Mellau and is under nature protection. A little further to the south-east is the highest mountain in Dornbirn's municipality, the Sünser Spitze and the striking Hohe Freschen .
