history

There is a medieval burial mound from the 10th or 11th century, around which there is an educational trail that was created following archaeological work in 2004–2012.

At the beginning of the 16th century there were two noble families in Lewino, the "Bach" and the "Royk" . According to tax collection documents from 1570, Lewino consisted of four farms ( curia ) with a tax index of 13½ manso , two thirds of which belonged to the Bach family and a third to the Royk family. In 1526, in the crown register of the Polish King Sigismund I , their noble possessions were confirmed:

“Date est privilegium nobilibus Paulo Lyeweyenski judici districtus Mirochoviensis Alberto et Jacobo heredibus de villa Lewyn in terra Pomoraniae et districtu Mirochoviensi sitta.”

- Crown matriculation no. 42 sheet 125 of July 28, 1526, "Privilegium nobilium super bona Lewyn"

The first two named Paul and Albert were members of the "Bach" family, who probably immigrated from today's German area. The third named Jakob was a member of the Kashubian family "Royk", who had already resided there. Both families subsequently carried the name of the place as a family name ("Lewinski"). While the Bach family held onto their property in Lewino for several centuries, Andreas Royk was the last of his family to be mentioned in 1662 as a taxpayer in Lewino.
