Li Hongxue ( Chinese  李宏 雪 , Pinyin Lǐ Hóngxuě ; born March 9, 1984 in Harbin , Heilongjiang , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese cross-country skier .

Career

Hongxue has been participating in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2003 . She competed at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2013. Her best placements were 18th place in the 30 km mass start race and 10th place with the relay at the 2007 World Championships in Sapporo . She ran her first World Cup race in November 2005 in Beitostølen , which she finished classically in 23rd place over 10 km and thus also got her first World Cup points. In February 2007 in Changchun she achieved her best individual World Cup result with 11th place in the 10 km freestyle and won the silver medal with the relay at the 2007 Winter Asian Games . She finished the 2006/07 season in 59th place in the overall World Cup ranking. At the Winter Asian Games 2011 she won the bronze medal over 5 km classic and with the relay and the silver medal together with Man Dandan in the team sprint. In the Tour de Ski 2013/14 she reached the 39th place. She took part in the Winter Olympics in 2006, 2010 and 2014. 22nd place in the 30 km mass start race and 15th place in the team sprint at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were their best placings. At the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she finished 63rd. In February 2017, she won the bronze medal in the 15 km mass start race and the 5 km classic and the silver medal with the relay at the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo.

Hongxue won in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015 at the Vasaloppet China over 50 km classic and 2015 in the Gatineau Loppet over 51 km classic.
