Liam Noble (born November 15, 1968 in London ) is a British jazz pianist .

Live and act

Noble took classical piano lessons and became interested in jazz after watching the movie The Clou with the music of Scott Joplin . He studied music at Oxford and trained in jazz at the Guildhall School of Music . Then he worked with Stan Sulzmann in a duo and a quartet; he has also appeared with Harry Beckett , John Stevens , Anita Wardell ( Why Do Yo Cry , 1995), Kenny Wheeler and again and again with Tim Whitehead . In 1994 he presented a solo album with Close Your Eyes . He also performed with Bobby Wellins ( The Best Is Yet to Come ), Christine Tobin , Julian Siegel and Randy Brecker . Since the late 1990s he concentrated on working with his own band, which included Sulzman, Chris Biscoe , Paul Clavis and Mike Hutton, and with whom he also played at numerous festivals and produced several albums, of which the criticism In the Meantime (2001) particularly highlights. In 2008 he released a tribute album with compositions by Dave Brubeck in a trio with bassist Dave Whitford and drummer Dave Wickins . In the same year he recorded with Ingrid Laubrock (and Tom Rainey ) Laubrock's album Sleepthief .
