Anita Wardell
Anita Wardell (born August 23, 1961 in Guildford ) is a British jazz singer .
Wardell, who grew up in Australia since 1973, studied jazz at Adelaide University . She performed in Adelaide and Sydney and became a member of the vocal group Adelaide Connection , with which she recorded two albums. In 1989 she moved to London, where she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and recorded albums with Liam Noble ( Why Do Yo Cry , 1995) and Emil Viklický ; In 1998 the album Straight Ahead followed with Jason Rebello . At the JazzFest Berlin in the same year she appeared with Norma Winstone , Kenny Wheeler and John Taylor . In the next few years she put on more albums with her own band, but also worked with Michael Garrick .
She teaches jazz improvisation and regularly leads masterclasses and courses at the Guildhall School of Music, Trinity College of Music , Leeds College, Colchester Institute, Brunel University and Adelaide University.
