Liane Croon (born June 21, 1927 in Torgelow ; † 2000 ; actually Liane Henriette Krohn ) was a German actress and operetta soubrette .

Life

After graduating from high school in Pasewalk, Liane Croon completed an acting training at the Hebbeltheaterschule Berlin from 1949 to 1950 and also studied singing with W. Keller in Berlin. Engagements at several Berlin theaters followed, including a. at the Schiller Theater , the Schlossparktheater , the Hebbel Theater , the Renaissance Theater and the grandstand .

Already in 1950 - before her stage debut - Liane Croon made her feature film debut under the direction of Wolfgang Staudte in his socially critical drama The Staircase . This was followed by appearances in Paul Verhoeven's crime drama The Guilt of Dr. Homma (with Werner Hinz in the title role) and in Robert A. Stemmle's comedy The ideal bride and groom . However, she became known to a wide audience through two leading roles in fairy tale films by Herbert B. Fredersdorf : In 1953 she played the princess in The Princess and the Swineherd based on Hans Christian Andersen and in 1955 the miller's daughter in Rumpelstiltskin .

In addition, Liane Croon also worked extensively as a voice actress and lent her voice a. a. Abby Dalton ( Asphalt Hyenas ), Rosemary Forsyth ( The Normans Are Coming ), Dorothy McGuire (second German version of Die Wendeltreppe ) and Oscar winner Miyoshi Umeki ( almond eyes and lotus blossoms ).
