The Lianghekou Dam ( Chinese  两 河口 水电站 , Pinyin Liǎnghékǒu shuǐdiànzhàn  - "Lianghekou Hydroelectric Power Plant") is a dam that is under construction with a large hydroelectric power plant in Yajiang County in the Garzê Autonomous District of the Tibetans in the Chinese province of Sichuan . The dam is being built at the confluence of the three rivers Yalong (also called Nyagchu), Qingda and Xianshui . The name Lianghekou means " confluence of two rivers".

Construction began in October 2014 and is expected to last until 2023 . Template: future / in 3 yearsThe hydropower plant will have an installed capacity of 3000 MW. Its purpose is to bring energy from China's west to the east. The barrier structure is 295 m high and is a dam with an earth core seal.

The reservoir will be 6,330 million cubic meters. This makes it the second largest water reservoir on this river. The reservoir will dam the Yalong for 90 km, the Xianshui 80 km and the Qingda 28 km.
