Lidia Książkiewicz (* 1977 in Poznan ) is a Polish pianist , organist , harpsichordist and music teacher living in France .

biography

Lidia Książkiewicz was born in Poznan in 1977 as the daughter of a mathematics professor at the Polytechnic High School. She began to learn to play the piano at the age of 5 at the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz . At the age of 20 she began her organ studies at the Music Academy in Poznan, which she graduated with honors in 2001 with degrees in piano and organ . In addition, she received numerous awards in international competitions, including:

  • 2nd prize in the International Music Competition of the 20th Century in Warsaw (piano), 1994,
  • 3rd prize in the international organ competition "César Franck" in Haarlem , 2000,
  • Prix ​​spéciale in the International Competition Reger & Messiaen in Graz , 2003,
  • 1st prize in the 4th international organ competition "Marcello Galanti" in Mondaino , 2003.

Książkiewicz has already performed in concerts in a large number of European countries. For postgraduate studies under Eric Lebrun , she went to France in 2002 at the Saint-Maur-des-Fossés Conservatory , where she also started studying harpsichord and received the Premier Prix d'Excellence . She also took private lessons from the organist André Isoir . In France she won other competitions, including the Grand Prix Florentz of the Academy of Fine Arts Angers . In 2004 she became a finalist of the International Organ Competition in Chartres and on May 2, 2004 she won the Grand Prix in the competition of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.

In addition to her training as a pianist and organist, Książkiewicz carried out extensive pedagogy studies and obtained the national diploma in pedagogy for organ and piano. She is the author of numerous educational publications and leads masterclasses for piano and organ.

As a soloist, she has played with many orchestras, including the Krakow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Sinfonietta and the Orchester de la Bretagne. She has also made recordings for radio and television in Europe and has been invited as a jury member at international organ and piano competitions.

In September 2010, Książkiewicz was appointed titular organist at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Laon , succeeding Laurent Fèvres , making her the first foreign titular organist in France. Today she is a professor and pianist at the Academy of Music and the Strasbourg Conservatory .
