Lidija Georgievna Svyagina
Lidija Georgievna (Yuryevna) Swjagina ( Russian Лидия Георгиевна (Юрьевна) Звягина ; born December 1 . Jul / 13. December 1861 greg. In Kamenetz-Podolski , † 1943 in Moscow ) was a Ukrainian - Russian contra-alto and singing teacher .
Life
Svyagina from a noble family graduated from high school in Zhitomir . Then she studied at the higher women's courses in Kiev . She received her vocal training at the Kiev Music School. From 1882 to 1887 she studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with Anna Poljakowa-Chwostowa , Jelisaweta Zwanziger and Camille François Everard .
From 1887 Svyagina sang in Tbilisi and studied Prjanischnikov's roles under the direction of Ippolit . In 1889 she joined the opera troupe of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater and became a soloist there (until 1909). In the summer of 1889 she was to a guest performance in Odessa and sang the Ratmir in Glinkas Ruslan and Lyudmila . In the summers of 1890 and 1891 she continued her education in Paris with Pauline Viardot-García and studied the parts of Ratmir in Ruslan and Ludmila, the princess in Dargomyschski's Russalka and Carmen in Bizet's Carmen .
From 1920 to 1924 Svyagina was a professor at the Moscow Conservatory . Among her students was the People's Artist of the USSR and multiple Stalin Prize winner N. S. Chanajew . In addition, she taught at the formerly private music college of the Valentina Sograf-Plaxina , which became the Academic College of Music at the Moscow Conservatory.
During her final years, Svyagina lived in the house of the stage veterans. She was married twice.
