Love? D rather not! (Original title: Love Stinks ) is an American comedy film directed by Jeff Franklin from 1999 .

action

Seth Winnick, a comedy writer, meets the attractive interior designer Chelsea Turner at the wedding of his best friend Larry. The two immediately feel drawn to each other and go on their first date that same night. They end up in a bed in the showroom of Chelsea's workplace, where they are caught by their boss, who then presumably fires Chelsea.

Seth and Chelsea become a couple and seem very happy together. But after two years together, Chelsea, who is willing to marry, notices that Seth wants to stay with her, but does not intend to propose to her. Then a bitter guerrilla war breaks out between the couple.

Reviews

Desson Howe derided in the Washington Post on September 10, 1999 that the title Love Stinks aptly described the film.

The lexicon of international films judged: "A failed comedy that fails due to the deficits of the script as well as the lack of talent of the actors."

Prisma said: “An unimaginative story as you have seen it a thousand times, plus an annoying grimacing main actor, who offers the perfect image of a bang batch. There really is better! "

The German Film and Media Assessment FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the film the rating "valuable".

background

The production of the film cost an estimated 4 million US dollars . Approx. 2.8 million US dollars were recorded in cinemas in the USA.
