Lienhard Wawrzyn

Lienhard Wawrzyn (born April 2, 1951 in Berlin ) is a German author , film and television director and dramaturge .

Life

After graduating from high school, Wawrzyn studied philosophy , German literature and psychology at the Free University of Berlin under Wilhelm Weischedel and Michael Theunissen with a focus on Kant , Hegel , Schelling and the Frankfurt School .

After completing his studies, initially worked as a lecturer at the Free University (FU) Berlin. Among other things, he conducted seminars together with Rüdiger Safranski on the topics of German Romanticism , Eichendorff , ETA Hoffmann .

Wawrzyn is a graduate of the German Film and Television Academy , where he studied from 1978 to 1981. He also attended directing seminars and workshops with Krzysztof Kieślowski , Edward Zebrowski, Agnieska Holland and advanced training in screenwriting with Frank Daniel, David Howard, Don Bohlinger . In 1983, Wawrzyn received the silver ribbon at the award of the Federal Film Prize for the short film People Like Glass .

He is a founding member of the Association of German Scriptwriters (VDD) and was a member of the board for more than ten years.

Wawrzyn is married, has a daughter and lives in Berlin.
