Last year's winner was Marwan Elshorbagy , who did not participate again. In the final, world number one Karim Abdel Gawad prevailed against Tarek Momen with 11: 6, 5:11, 11: 8 and 11: 6.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Mazen Hesham a spot in the main draw.
At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 70,000.
