Lil Lano , also known as Alec Valestra , is a German rapper and web video producer . He grew up in Norderstedt and in January 2018 with his song Falschen Supreme pt. 2 first gained more attention. His most famous song is Stone Island with over 31 million streams on Spotify.

Life

According to his own statement, Valestra comes from a family of former Italian guest workers . His family runs a cheese factory in Italy. Lil Lano tells about his father that he does not see him as a father, but only as his father.

Valestra joined YouTube in late 2016 under the name Alec . Later renamed followed the channel to Lil Lano . In addition to video blogs , he has also been publishing music here since 2017 . His first mixtape NudeTape was released in January 2018 . The track Stone Island , which was published in October 2018 and whose video on Youtube had over eight million views by January 2020, was a success. In the same year the music video for Broccoli + Codeine 2.0 was released .

2018 Valestra was on high on cough syrup youth and Money Boy than Featuring represented. Also in 2018 he released the song Para Illegal with King Khalil . There King Khalil expressly mentions his colorful braids as positive. He produced the G-Class again together with King Khalil. Lil Lano can also be heard on the KUKU EP King Khalils .

Valestra is under contract with Universal Music Germany and works with the Virgin Group label .

In December 2019, Valestra was briefly under mental treatment after a breakdown.

reception

Laut.de described Valestra 2018 as a person who is “terribly expressive” and whose videos consist primarily of “pure shittalking”. His music has weak lyrics and the trap sound image is "sucked out". Noisey remarks that Valestra reminds us of Money Boy, who in 2010 “collectively asked the whole of German rap: Is he really serious?” And who is now “a more or less established and respected artist”. Valestra always marks his publications on YouTube with the note “This video is an art project”.
