Liliencron Lecturer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Liliencron lecturer in poetry in Kiel is the only poetry lecturer in Germany that is exclusively reserved for poetry .

Since 1997 it has been awarded to a poet from the German-speaking area by the Institute for Modern German Literature and Media at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and the Literaturhaus Schleswig in honor of the poet Detlev von Liliencron (1844–1909) every summer semester -Holstein awarded. It receives funding from the state of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Liliencron lectureship consists of a lecture on a topic chosen by the lecturer, an accompanying colloquium , a panel discussion at the end and a reading from your own works, with which the lectureship opens. All events are public. Doris Runge was the first poet to take over the Liliencron lectureship. About the craft of poetry, she said in her lecture: “As Cinderella reads lenses, so authors must read the words, the 'good', the 'bad'. Draw word for word into the light and check whether they can still be saved for poetry. "

The “outstanding cultural achievements” of the Liliencron lectureship were honored in 2001 with the KulturAktuell award from the Schleswig-Holstein State Cultural Association.
