Lin Ju , also Luis Lin (born September 1, 1979 in Fujian (China)) is a table tennis player from the Dominican Republic who has performed internationally since 2003. So far (2016) he has participated in ten world championships and three Olympic Games .

Career

Lin Ju was born in China in 1979, but performed internationally under the flag of the Dominican Republic. Lin Ju is a defender . He achieved top places in tournaments on the American continent. At the Pan American Games , in which he participated in 2003, 2007 and 2011, he won a total of two gold medals in singles and a bronze medal in singles and doubles. He was represented at Latin American Championships from 2005 to 2008. Once gold in singles, three gold in mixed and two silver in singles were the results.

From 2003 to 2014, Lin Ju took part in ten world championships , but never came close to medal ranks.

In 2004, Lin Ju qualified for the first time to participate in the Olympic Games . He only competed in the individual and reached the round of 16 after victories over Ryo Yuzawa (Japan), Alexei Smirnow (Russia) and Jean-Michel Saive (Belgium), where he was eliminated against the Chinese and later silver medalist Wang Hao . At the next two Olympic Games he was again only eligible to play individually, where he only survived the first round. In 2008 he won against Tiago Apolónia (Portugal) and lost to Adrian Crișan (Romania), in 2012 he prevailed against Kim Song-nam (North Korea), but not against Marcos Freitas (Portugal).

In February 2006, he was ranked 39th in the ITTF world rankings .

At times Lin Ju also played in the German Bundesliga . In the 2001/02 season he was active at SV Plüderhausen , as well as in the 2005/06 season when the team became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga South. In 2006 he emigrated to France.
