Lina Ahmed gained her first international experience in 2013 at the African Youth Championships in Warri , where she won the gold medal in 14.04 s, as well as at the subsequent Arab Youth Championships in Cairo , where she took 13.97 s. So she qualified for the Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where she was eliminated with 13.91 s in the semifinals. The following year she won the Arab Junior Championships in Cairo in 14.15 s and retired from the Junior World Championships in Eugene with 14.29 s in the lead. In 2015 she won the silver medal in the hurdles sprint at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa in 14.48 s and finished fourth in the Egyptian 4 x 100 meter relay in 48.32 s. In 2016 she won the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Tunis in 13.89 s and reached seventh place in the African Championships in Durban in 13.81 s. She then reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she was eliminated with 13.68 s. In 2017 she took part in the World Championships in London thanks to a wildcard , where she was eliminated in the first round with 13.78 seconds .
In 2018 she finished sixth at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo in 13.63 s and at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona she was eliminated with 14.20 s in the lead. The following year she finished sixth over 60 m hurdles at the U23 Mediterranean Indoor Championships in Miramas in 8.59 s. In August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and was eliminated there with 13.97 s in the preliminary round.
