Linas is a Lithuanian male given name originally of Greek origin as the Lithuanian form of Linus (from Linos, Greek Λινος = flax , which is also called linas in Lithuanian ). The name includes the association of flax blonde hair - not uncommon in the northern European country Lithuania .
