Linda Keough

Linda Keough (after marriage to Staines ; born December 26, 1963 in the London Borough of Hackney ) is a former British sprinter .

Life

At the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh she won silver with the English team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . With the British relay she was sixth in the same discipline at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

In 1990 she won silver in the 400-meter run and gold in the 4-by-400-meter relay at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland . At the European Athletics Championships in Split she was fifth over 400 m and won bronze with the British team in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , she came over 400 m to the semi-finals and was fourth in the season. After she had to take a break in 1992 due to an injury, she won bronze at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart with the British 4 x 400 meter relay. In the individual competition she reached the semifinals.

In 1994 she was first with the British team at the European Championships in Helsinki fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay and then won gold in the same discipline with the English team at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria .

In 2005 she set the current British age records in the W 40 class over 400 m (54.81 s) and 800 m (2: 06.86 min).

Linda Keough is 1.74 m tall and weighs 60 kg. She started for the Basingstoke and Mid Hants Athletics Club. She and her husband, former long-distance runner Gary Staines , run a sporting goods store called Runners Roost in Colorado .
