Lindenkapelle (Bad Lippspringe)
The linden chapel in Bad Lippspringe in East Westphalia is a branch church of the St. Martins parish in the pastoral association of Bad Lippspringe-Schlangen in the Paderborn deanery of the Archdiocese of Paderborn .
history
A wayside shrine with a Pietà had stood at this point since 1696 . The two-bay plastered hall church with a choir closed on three sides was built by Arnold Güldenpfennig in a linden tree around 1860 . A figure niche is set in a high pointed arch above the portal . The walls are structured by tracery windows. The interior was subsequently groin vaulted .
Furnishing
Today there is a baroque altar in the chapel , which comes from the Busdorf Church in Paderborn . The chapel's neo-Gothic windows are well worth seeing. In front of the church there is a wayside cross, the inscription of which became known as a hymn, the version has been renewed.
