Linnea Liljegärd (born December 8, 1988 ) is a Swedish soccer player . The striker made her debut for the Swedish national team in 2009 .

Career

Liljegärd started playing football at Skogsbygdens IF before moving on to the youth team at Falköpings KIK . There, her talent caught the eye of the people in charge of Svenska Fotbollförbundet , who first appointed her to the U-16 team in 2004. In 2007 she made her debut for Falköpings KIK in Damallsvenskan . During the 2007 season she was used in 21 games for the club. Despite her five goals this season, the promoted team missed relegation, whereupon she moved within the league.

New club Liljegärd became the first division side Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC . Initially a supplementary player, she fought for a regular place in the storm during the 2008 season . With her twelve goals this season she recommended herself for the national team and made her debut on January 31, 2009 in a 5-1 win over Norway with goals from four-time goalscorer Lotta Schelin and Sara Larsson in a goal against Ingvild Stensland in the national jersey . She was able to maintain her regular place in the club in the following season and scored 16 goals in 16 games by the summer break due to the European Championship in 2009 . Although she had not made any further international appearances at the time of the nomination, she nominated national coach Thomas Dennerby at the side of her club mates Hedvig Lindahl , Sara Lindén and Stina Segerström for the final tournament.
